11．代词pronoun
（it,they,their,which,that）
①singular & plural；
②不能pro-verb,per-sentence；
例：During the labor dispute,barrels of potatoes were emptied across the highway,and they thereby blocked it to all traffic.（P599.4）

(B) highway and thereby blocking it to all traffic

③不能pro-none;

不能pro-verb不能pro-sentence就是代词不能指代动词和句子,只能指代一个名词.
这个题选E,最简练而且语法正确
第三个不能pro-none是抄错了吧,是代词只能pro-noun,就是只能指代名词

再答： as是连词，like不是 as后要有谓语动词（常省略），like不用
