One summer day a raindrop falls from a cloud. Many other raindrops fall at the same time, but our story is about just one raindrop.
The raindrop falls to the ground on the side of a hill. The water of the raindrop runs down the hill into a little river. The little river carries the raindrop to a big river. Then the raindrop travels far to the east into the sea. There the water of the raindrop mixes itself with the salt water of the sea.
Now the water of the raindrop is on the surface of the sea. As the sun makes it very warm it changes into steam. The steam leaves the sea and goes up into the air, and it does not carry any salt with it. It has left the salt in the sea.
The steam from the raindrop moves with the warm air towards the north. On the way the warm air meets some cold air. The cold air pushes the warm air high above the ground. The warm air becomes cool when it goes up, and the steam in it changes into very small drops of water again. There are millions and millions of these small drops in the cloud. The small drops come together into bigger and bigger drops. Our raindrop is one of them. Now the drop becomes so big that it is too heavy to stay in the cloud, and it falls to the ground. In this way the water of our raindrop, starts travelling to the sea again.
