Violation of the "maxim of character"

"Who is Benjamin?" should be relevant to historical figures or events
in the context of history. However, the student gave an answer from the aspect of
Franklin’s image on the dollar bill (the head portrait of Franklin is printed
on the hundred dollar bill) which is irrelevant in the context of history, and
therefore is in violation of the maxim of relation. Violation of the “maxim of
manner”: The requirement of the maxim of manner is to avoid obscurity. In
Example (10), the information in the father’s answer is inadequate, hence obscure,and therefore it violates the maxim of manner.
