Nowadays, EQ becomes increasingly significant. And humor is a perspective to illustrate if one's EQ is high or low. So, having a sense of humor does not mean that one is not serious, it does express one's communicative skill, coorperative ability and social adaptability.
some people may suggest that humor is equal to the lack of seriousness. However, I side with the opposite opinion. As for me, humor is a very important element in our daily life, it shows up everytime, while we are making friends, going sightseeing and even having a blind date. So people can not live without humor, just like fish can not live without water.
All in all, to conclude, according to all the stuff I listed above, I strongly believe humer does do not mean the lack of seriousness.
