英语阅读理解题目
文章:
To be honest,I hate liars, and those who lie for a living and without any good intentions in particular.Ironically,I just lied once again, adding an extra point to my countless lying score board. After all,I'm just like anyone else, and who dare say he hasn't told a single lie in his entire life. No,no one!
But I didn't lie without a reason.I mean I had to,and it was my last choice. If I hadn't lied,I would definitely had missed what I cared so much about, and let down the ones I love. And once I had missed it,there would have been nothing I could do to make it up and I would spend the rest of my life regretting not being able to make it.It is something I've waited long enough for and something I can never afford to lose.
If dishonesty is sin (罪孽),I have again sinned. So here I am to admit, and hopefully in doing so I can gain the freedom from evil.To the ones I lied to,I'm terribly sorry, not because I damaged my own reputation, but because I repaid your trust with a deceitful (欺诈的) act and took advantage of your compassion and good hearts.I'm sorry, but I had no choice.
If I were to be punished for what I did today, let it be.All the efforts and pains, compared with what I'm gambling for, will be nothing but worthwhile.
