第一题一定选D,因为这是一句虚拟语气的句子.虚拟语气的if从句中,should解释为“万一”“竟然”.
第二题的句子是由从句变来的,原来是Since it was now pretty late,we took our candles and retied.
现在去掉连词since以后,就不是从句了,将was改成being以后,being就成了非谓语的现在分词.整个从句现在就变成了含being的分词短语表原因.
