Tears came into the mother’s eyes when she talked about waking up her son.Every morning, her ten-year-old son puts up one finger with his eyes still closed, begging for one more minute to sleep. Why is he so sleepy?
Because he has to get up before 6 every morning like tens of thousands of students “early birds” in China.
Teenagers usually need eight to ten hours’ sleep at night. But in Shanghai it’s reported that 90 percent of the students do not get enough sleep. And studies show that without a good night’s sleep, students seem to be weaker than they should be.As a result, many of them become near-sighted.
Li Ming,a senior high student at Qinghua High School, said that he usually went to bed
after 11 pm,and when he had exams coming up,he had to stay up as late as midnight. This “night bird” lifestyle makes many students nod off in class.Li Ming said that it was during afternoon classes that he felt most sleepy.“My parents are usually happy to see me studying so late,” he said.“They think I work very hard and they make me cups of coffee.”
However, not all parents are happy about this.“My daughter gets up so early. She looks tired and it really hurts me,” said one of the parents. Why don’t so many students get enough sleep? Now more and more people begin to think about it.
Task:1.Why did the ten-year-old boy’s mother talk about waking up her son with tears in her eyes?
翻译~简要说明内容也行,
Tears came into the mother’s eyes when she talked about waki
这真的是高一的英语啊?·想当年我们的怎么就没有那么简单?
主要是大多数中国青少年睡眠不足的原因是因为我们的父母对于我们寄托了带多的期望,以至于让很多孩子看起来很累!
The answer for task 1高一英语
Because she wants her children to get up before 6 every morning like tens of thousands of students “early birds” in China.
