Who is Judas?
Judas Iscariot which means praise, he’s father is Simon Iscariot, and he was born in Kerioth, Judea. Jesus chose him to be his disciples, because he is smart, handsome and capable. Everybody was suggesting Jesus to take him with Jesus, and Jesus did take him as his disciple. But Judas loves money, like a lot.
Why did Judas want to follow Jesus?
Because when Judas saw Jesus, he had been attracted by Jesus because of Jesus emotion and temperament. Also Judas wants to get a higher seat by following Jesus (Which is using). But he really loves Jesus and wants to follow him.
Judas Betrayed Jesus:
Judas loves money a lot. Priests hates Jesus, so they gave Judas 30 pieces of silver and tell Judas to show them where is Jesus. Then Judas betrayed Jesus, he showed them where the Jesus is, and kissed Judas to tell the priests this is the guy you want. Then they caught Jesus, and killed Jesus. But he suicide after he saw Jesus on the cross, so he gave back the 30 pieces of silver to priests and he regretted himself. People threw him into a valley which is scary, smelly and got curse.
So people always call him a betrayer.
How could he betray Jesus?
1. Because he loves money too much, even more than Jesus.
2. Because he is selfish.
3. He is proud; he thinks he’s better than other disciples.
What did Jesus do to Judas?
Jesus notice Judas is greedy when he first saw him, so he wants to be closer to Judas so he can help Judas to get out of it. Jesus never blame on Judas.
Page 84 of Burnt Toast the Devil said:
“One of our prized possessions cost but thirty pieces of silver. In that particular case he didn’t know it was his soul he was selling.”
I think this sentence means Judas and the main character are in a same situation. They are all using soul to get money. The different is Judas is using Jesus soul to get money, but the main character in Burnt Toast; he is getting money by using his soul.
