宾语从句
I know (that) he is a teacher.我知道他是个老师.
He asked whether (if) Bill liked red.他问彼尔是否喜欢红色.
(连词if或whether 这两个连词的意思是“是否”,用来引导一般疑问句意思或选择疑问句意思的宾语从句,口语中常用if,且不可省略.)
I didn’t know where he would go.我不知道他要去哪.
(连接代词或连接副词,这类词引导特殊疑问句形式的宾语从句.)
状语从句
I learned to ride a bike when I was ten.
I’ll call you as soon as the meeting is over.
I didn’t go to bed until I finished my homework.
(通常由when,while,as,after,before,until,as soon as等引导.时间状语从句通常用一般现在时代替一般将来时.)
原因状语从句
--- Why were you late this morning?
--- Because I got up late.
(由because,since,as,引导.这三个词所表达的语气由because到as 逐渐减弱.其中,由why提出的问题必须用because来回答.)

通常由so…that,such(a)…that,so that 引导,表示事态结果.由so…that,such(a)…that等引导的结果状语从句经常含有“结果的程度”的意思;由so that引导的结果状语从句与so that引导的目的状语从句在形式上相同,要通过句子意思判断该状语从句是目的状语从句还是结果状语从句.
由so…(形容词或副词)that引导的结果状语从句:
Jim is so strong that he can lift the heavy box.
由such(a)…that引导的状语从句有三种情况:
such a +单数可数名词+that.如:
He is such a hard-working boy that he has always been top in his class.
such+复数可数名词+that.如:
Bill and Tom are such good students that they never fail the exam.
such+不可数名词 +that.如:
Mr.Smith knows such little French that he can’t communicate with Frenchmen.
