Expo 2010 (simplified Chinese: 2010上海世界博览会 Pinyin:Shànghǎi shìjiè bólǎnhuì) will be held in the city of Shanghai, China from May 1 to October 31, 2010 and is a scheduled World Expo in the tradition of international fairs and expositions. The theme of the exposition will be "Better City – Better Life" and signifies Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as a major economic and cultural center . It is expected to generate the largest number of visitors in the history of the world's fairs in terms of gross numbers. The expo Logo features the Chinese character 世 ('world') modified to represent three people together with the 2010 date.
More than 190 countries and more than 50 international organizations have registered to participate in the Shanghai World Expo. China expects to receive almost 100 foreign leaders and millions of people from across the world to come and visit the World Expo. 70 million visitors are expected, the largest in history.[1]

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is an international non-governmental organization working on issues regarding the conservation, research and restoration of the environment, formerly named the World Wildlife Fund, which remains its official name in the United States and Canada. It is the world's largest independent conservation organization with over 5 million supporters worldwide, working in more than 90 countries, supporting around 1300 [4] conservation and environmental projects around the world. It is a charity, with approximately 60% of its funding coming from voluntary donations by private individuals. 45% of the fund's income comes from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.[3]
The group says its mission is "to halt and reverse the destruction of our environment".[5] Currently, much of its work focuses on the conservation of three biomes that contain most of the world's biodiversity: forests, freshwater ecosystems, and oceans and coasts. Among other issues, it is also concerned with endangered species, pollution and climate change.
世界自然基金会(简称WWF,旧称World Wildlife Fund Intenational——世界野生生物基金会,现在更名World Wide Fund for Nature)于1961年9月11日成立于瑞士小镇莫尔各斯(Morges),创始人为英国著名生物学家,曾任联合国教科文组织第一任总干事朱立安·赫胥黎先生。其基本目标是保护地球的生物资源。
世界自然基金会是世界最大的、经验最丰富的独立性非政府环境保护机构。在全球拥有520万支持者以及一个在100多个国家活跃着的网络。从1961年成立以来,世界自然基金会在6大洲的153个国家发起或完成了约12000个环保项目。目前世界自然基金会通过一个由27个国家级会员、21个项目办公室及5个附属会员组织组成的全球性的网络在北美洲、欧洲、亚太地区及非洲开展工作。
世界自然基金会在中国的工作始于1980年的大熊猫及其栖息地的保护,是第一个受中国政府邀请来华开展保护工作的国际非政府组织。1996年,世界自然基金会正式成立北京办事处,此后陆续在全国八个城市建立了办公室。发展至今,共拥有80多名员工,项目领域也由大熊猫保护扩大到物种保护、淡水和海洋生态系统保护与可持续利用、森林保护与可持续经营、可持续发展教育、气候变化与能源、野生物贸易、科学发展与国际政策等领域。
截止2009年,世界自然基金会共资助中国开展了100多个重大项目,投入总额超过3亿元人民币。
