london had one of the thickest fogs in years .is was hard to see your hand in front of your face .cars and buses moved along slowly ,their lights on and their horns blowing hard .whenevening came ,the weather got even worse .all traffic came to a stop .i had an important meeting on the other side of town ,but it was hard to find a taxi,i decided to walk ,and started at once
minutes later i was all lost ,i couldn't even see a street sign to get any help.then i heard a voice come out of fog ."i think you are lost can i help you?"i knew it was the voice of a youngwoman speaking to me .but it was hard to see her face in the fog.i was so happy to find another per-son out in the fog.iexplained where i wanted to go ,and she knew well how to get there ,i just fol-lowed her through the dark streets
the woman led me all the way to my place i was surprised as how well she had found her way through the fog."i know this part of town quite well," she said ."but the fog - this terrible fog=made it hard to see everything ." i said
what dou you think she answered?
she said,"it makes no difference to me if it's foggy or clear.you see ,i'm blind."
