tell不对的,它做不及物动词的时候意思如下:
1.讲述[(+of/about)]

2.识别;判定

现在要作出判断为时过早.
3.产生效果;发生影响[(+on)]
Strain began to tell on his health.
过度劳累开始影响他的健康.
4.【口】告发[(+on)]
而题目中想说的是鸟儿可以象小孩一样讲话.
而tell作讲话解时只能是及物动词.语法上就不对了.
可改用talk.
