Background & Purpose:
In China, Coca-Cola does more than give people quality, tasty products to enjoy. The company is actively involved in providing quality educational opportunities to underprivileged children in poor communities of the country.
Our community work ranges from rural youth education, to health programs, to environmental protection, to HIV/AIDS, to migrant farmers training, to special relief programs. However, the top priority for us is rural education. We firmly believe that China’s future greatly depends on its next generation. With the rural population still representing the majority, addressing the needs of these people is critical. Now that China has set the goal of becoming a generally well-off society by year 2020, improving the livelihood of the rural population is very critical. Needless to say, proper education for the rural children is essential inpuorgto reach that goal. As responsible corporate citizens, we definitely have a role to play here.
