汉译英的理想单位是篇章,译者着眼于篇章,却得从词开始起步,从词结成短语组成句子,成段谋篇,最后写成一篇与原文意义相符的英文作文.我将汉译英的这一自然顺序作为教程的编排程序.为达到实用的目的,我从近年来出版的权威性书报杂志上收集名译或实用译例,辅以解说评析.这些评析来自我融会贯通的各科知识,也体现了我的教学风格——语言平实生动、理论联系实际,力图知其然,还知其所以然.
l\x05俗话说,事非经过不知难.为了使教程新颖实用,我认真研读了许多翻译及相关学科的论著,翻阅了大量书刊杂志寻找合适的译例、反复推敲掂量词句以求评价客观.写书比教书难得多.但通过写书,从实践所获零星点滴的感性知识可以提炼为系统的理性知识,升华为深刻的思想.
