此语法点究竟说的是神马?
Verb + noun + adverb of direction
In English, combinations of this kind,if used properly, could make your expression neat and concise. For instance, instead of saying "indicate to sb.that he/she can enter by waving one's hand",just say "wave sb.in" as in Text A:Maybe the security guard at the front desk knows your face and will wave you in most days.
The following are a few more examples taken from the texts you have learned before:
I took the list home and did nothing until the night before the essay was due.(Text A,Unit 1,Book I)
As soon as he had dragged him away he patted out the flames on Royce's body and on his own legs and arms with his bare hands.(Text B,Unit 2,Book I)
You didn't call somebody in to repair something or replace it with something new.(Text B,Unit 2,Book II)
I start to feel as though I've become one with my machines, taking data in,spitting them back out, just another link in the Net.(Text A,Unit 4,Book II)
It leads to intimacy before acquaintance; it scatters secrets outwards, not inwards; and, most worrying of all,it is a vehicle for liars.(Text B,Unit 4,Book II)
完全看不懂上面写的是什么?好像任意一动词随便加个人后面带一介词就缩写啦?
We used to shout his name outside his house until he came out and chased us .
Tip:to a distance
2) She smiled at the guests in a friendly way and started to usher(引,领)them .
Tip:to the inner side
这两题怎么搞?
此语法点究竟说的是神马?
不是“任意一动词随便加个人后面带一介词就缩写”,而是正像是你的标题所说的“Verb + noun + adverb of direction”(动词+名词+表方向的副词)是种简洁的表达形式.如,sb1 +verb +sb2+ adverb of direction 表示 sb1对sb2做了动作verb,这个动作的方向是adverb of direction所表示的方向.当我们想表达 "indicate to sb. that he/she can enter by waving one's hand"(通过招手指示某人可以进去), 我们只需要说 "wave sb. in"就可以了,简洁吧!
你下面又举了更多的例子:(这种简写形式我用花括号括起来{})
I { took the list home } and did nothing until the night before the essay was due. (Text A, Unit 1, Book I)
As soon as he { had dragged him away } he patted out the flames on Royce's body and on his own legs and arms with his bare hands. (Text B, Unit 2, Book I)
You didn't { call somebody in } to repair something or replace it with something new. (Text B, Unit 2, Book II)
I start to feel as though I've become one with my machines, { taking data in }, { spitting them back out } , just another link in the Net. (Text A, Unit 4, Book II)
It leads to intimacy before acquaintance; it { scatters secrets outwards, not inwards }; and, most worrying of all, it is a vehicle for liars. (Text B, Unit 4, Book
We used to shout his name outside his house until he came out and chased us .
Tip: to a distance
可改为:We used to shout him out to chase us.
2) She smiled at the guests in a friendly way and started to usher(引,领)them .
Tip: to the inner side
She friendly smiled the guests in.
