Charles Darwin(1809-1882) was an English naturalist and author.His Origin of Species (1859) and Decent of Men (1871) exerted a strong impact in the history of Western thought.
Stephen William Hawking was born on 8 January 1942 (300 years after the death of Galileo) in Oxford,England.His book A Brief History of Time indicated that the modern physics has entered upon a new phase.
Zhenning Yang was born on September 22,1922,in Hofei,Anwhei,China.As a renowned physicist ,he has worked on various subjects in physics and got the Nobel Prize in 1957.
Thomas Edison was born on February 11,1847 and died on October 18,1931.He was an inventor and businessman who developed many important devices.Though many of his inventions were not completely original ,he still recieved patents worldwide,and was regarded as the scientist who changed people's life thoroughly.
