With respect to the fuel cells control problem, many papers are concerned. In ref [12], a classical magnitude frequency domain control system design method is applied in the fuel cell oxygen excess ratio control based on the transfer function model. In ref [13], a proportional integral (PI) feedback control structure is proposed to control the PEMFC power density, temperature, humidity and oxygen mole fraction based on a simplistic model. In ref [7], a nonlinear model predictive control approach is provided based on the data-driven Takagie Sugeno fuzzy temperature model. In ref [14], a feed forward disturbance rejection with feedback proportional integral derivative control method is shown based on a linearization temperature model. In refs [15,16], a reduced-order approximation dynamic PEMFC model is developed, taking into account spatial dependencies of voltage, current, material flows, and temperatures characteristics, and a nonlinear model predictive controller is designed, enabling the use of optimal control to satisfy power demands robustly, and meanwhile minimize fuel consumption to maximize the efficiency, while this power control results exist steady error. In ref [17], a hybrid configuration of the ultra-capacitors and the PEMFC is applied during fast current transients to avoid fuel cell oxygen starvation. And the dynamic matrix control strategy is designed to control the oxygen excess ratio based on the hybrid linearization state space model. A linear quadratic regulator measure is applied in PEMFC temperature control in ref [18]. In ref [19], in order to control the PEMFC pressure and humidity, the actuators are adjusted using a static output feedback controller on the anode side of the fuel cell stack, and a gain-scheduled controller is developed to compensate for a water-vapor saturated cathode condition. In ref [20], a linear ratio control strategy is applied to control the average power density and the average solid temperature based on the transfer function models from the step tests of the distributed parameter PEMFC model. In ref [21], an on-line adaptive nonlinear internal mode optimizing predictive controller is applied to seek the peak power of a PEMFC with the identification OBF-wiener model. In ref [22], a charge sustaining supervisory power controller is developed based on a model predictive feedback law, which minimizes the warm up duration of a fuel cell battery hybrid power system by optimally controlling the power split between the fuel cell system and the battery and the operation of an auxiliary heater.
