其二,是谁见证了她的死?在莎士比亚的原剧中,Ophelia的死完全是借着王后的嘴说出,而究竟是谁见到她由树上落水,进而淹死这个过程的,则根本没有交代.这里更加引出了另外的,应该说是密切相关的下面一个问题：
其三,她是否是自杀?根据诗歌中的描述来看,貌似Ophelia落入水里是因为树枝突然断裂的意外,但在墓地一幕中两个掘坟工的对话中,却直指Ophelia的死其实应该是自杀.作为重要论据,就是如果在意外中死亡中死者没有自卫行为,就应该是属于自我意志地结束生命.回到上面的疑点,尽管剧中没有提到Ophelia死亡的观察者,但翔实的描述却在暗示着有观察者.诗中更提到在她落水之后,曾一度被裙摆托起在水面上.如果当时真有观察者,那为什么没有人施救?那么可能性之后两个,一个就是她拒绝救助,要么就压根没有观察者!
