1.Should we encourage private cars in big city?
2.Companies should not judge the job applicants only by their educational certificates?
3.Is smorking that bad?
Nowadays,an increasing number of private cars are being driven in big cities.Whether we encourage such cars in big city hasn’t reached a consensus.
Some people support to encourage private cars for several reasons.First of all,the development of economy determines more and more people have demand for private cars.People can afford to buy a car and thus it is unreasonable to restrict such demand.Essentially, such demand will stimulate economy to develop further.Secondly, most people live far away from their working place so it is necessary to own a car to provide convenience for daily commute and other activities.
On the contrary,a good many people disagree to purchasing private cars in big cities.Their concern is mainly about the deteriorating environmental and serious traffic problem in big cities. The more private cars on the road, the poorer the air and the traffic is.Moreover, these cars consume too much energy, which affects other industry.
I think we shouldn’t encourage private cars especially in big cities.Along with the above mentioned disadvantages caused by cars,I think people’ health will be affected if relying too much on cars.
It is arguably that quite a number of companies tend to give priority to applicants whose educational certificates are better.
The supporters believe that it is inevitable to do so.Firstly,it costs too much time to select all the resumes one by one.Maybe there are indeed certain applicants, who graduated from less famous colleges or schools, are qualified for their vacant. But such percentage is too small to worth spending valuable time in identifying them.Besides,it is agreed extensively that people with better educational certificates show greater potential and ability after being hired.
However, the opponents argue that such behavior is unfair and short sight. For one thing, the imperfect educational system which has been proved by many cases shows that educational background doesn’t mean everything. It is personality and morality that determine one’s final achievements. For another,a good company should have the capability to train its workers.Whoever being trained properly can perform excellently. So applicants even without good educational certificates should not be discriminated.
In my opinion, many celebrities don’t have outstanding educational certificates, such as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, which prove that talent and effort can change everything.
The arguments about disadvantages of smoking have long existed and still it is being concerned.
The medical research and other fields try their best to prove scientifically that smoking causes too much problems. The primary one is that smoking results in all kinds of diseases, among which asthma and lung cancer are two of the most frequently mentioned.Secondly, maybe more importantly, smoking has negative effect not only on smokers, but also on people around the smokers. Many protestors strongly condemn smokers’ influence on women and children. Also,a pregnant smoker may damage her baby’s health. In addition, too much fire is contributed to careless smokers.Heavy losses in human lives and property arouse much attention.
Nonetheless,it is unlikely to prohibit smoking entirely.Smokers protest this is against their basic human rights. And they hold a strong belief that everyone should have the freedom of choice.
I agree that smoking is bad.And I hope correspondent regulations are issued to forbid people smoking publicly.
