What exactly is friendship? Who can be your friend?
Well, literately someone you know for some time and in communication with you, usually you would address him as a friend of yours. But in fact, it is not that simple. Friends are much more than that and even friends have different levels. Not everyone can be friends, some people you knew for years, may not be a friend of yours, but someone you only met last week could be. People who work with you or associate with you through business or community connections are not your friends. You can only call them someone you knew or someone you associate with. Your relationship with these people are formal, you can only exchange a few words of greetings or say “hello” at meeting with them, without thoroughly understanding of their backgrounds, surely without the deep emotional connection, which friends should have.
Then how do we find friends or make someone our friends? This is a very sophisticated question, which is hard to answer and the answer may not be correct. Here is mine. Friends formed from many different situations. Some may start from having the same interests or hobbies. Others may be formed through a difficult circumstance, which during those hard times they helped each other unselfishly. Few may admire at each other and from admiration grew to respect, finally a friendship is built.
No matter how friendships were formed, they all have the same characteristics, which are, true friends help each other unconditionally without the second thoughts. True friends tell you everything. And they point out all your faults, wrong doings and weakness without hesitation, but they will protect you in every possible way and never would let anyone to hurt you. True friends treat you like a trash bin, dumping their emotions on you. So you too can treat them like trash bins in return and dump your emotion on them unconditionally. True friends are just two people, even after parted for years, but there are still unforgettable connections burry deep down their hearts and always would think of each other.
Everybody needs friends, because from time to time, we all would encounter with difficulties and even sorrows. True friends will always be there to support you, and would offer their shoulders for you to cry on. Of course, in time you would return their favour by offering your shoulder for them to cry on too.
When you are in your darkest hours and thinking of concede defeat and give up. Before doing that you should look to yours friends. They will help you with whatever they could to give you their guidance and help you to navigate through the darkness back into the bright daylight. Without friends, you are just a one man army, losing every battle is more than certain. Friends are not just your allies but an important part of your battle units, which winning all battles cannot be without!
So, whatever you do, please make sure that you would important your friendship and treat your friends well, never betray them, for one day you are going to need them. Thank everyone for listening.
