a) Understand the functions of rectifier,filter and voltage regulator.

c)Calculate the values of 1zm(useing the values of PD(max) and Vz).
d)Claculate the ranges of R2 and R3 to ensure Zener diodes are in the Zener Breakdown Region.(Hint:Equation 4 of pg4 1)
e)Determine the resistances of r2 and R3 at its test current 1ZT,and verify the Zener diodes are poerating within their specidied current range.(Hint:Calculate 1z using max load current given)
f)Based on the specification given,from table 2.4(a)of your textbook,selsct a diode type by considering the values of 1o,1FSM and VRRM required to do the job (find PIV of each diode).
