写作:
Bad manners in public
1."Hearing the ringtone of someone's cell phone at classical music concerts or other music events annoys me the most. I, as a listener, go to a concert to enjoy the music as well as the calm mood. I can forget about the reality of life in such a blissful moment, but the sudden sound of a ringtone brings me back to reality and spoils the mood. I hate that."
2. "It bugs me when a big group such as high school girls take over the sidewalk. Although it is completely legal, their bad behavior bothers me. They spread out from one end of the sidewalk to the other, walking slowly and and blocking my path. I wish they would have more consideration for others."
3. "I cannot stand people sitting down on the ground. Even worse are drunken people who occupy space for more than one on a train seat. Once, I saw a drunken man lying down on the seat, preventing other passengers from sitting down. That was very annoying. Some people even told him: 'Your feet smell.' Drunks do not usually have good manners, anyway, so what can we expect?"
4. "It is sad to see people not giving up a seat to those who need it on trains, or occupying priority seats when they shouldn't be. They should be offering their seat to pregnant women, the disabled and the elderly."
5. "I don't like it when people smoke in front of non-smokers. The public service announcements keep saying smokers should not do so in order to avoid non-smokers being affected by secondhand smoking. I wish this practice would be stopped once and for all. In addition, littering cigarette butts on the street is ridiculous here in Japan. My dog accidentally ate a cigarette butt on a street while we were walking along one day. I'd like smokers to show some manners."
6. "Well, I was just smoking a cigarette, but I can't stand those people who smoke in crowded places. Personally, I would never do that. If one wants to smoke that bad in a crowded public place, then one should look for the closest smoking area. Even I, as a smoker, find it annoying when someone is smoking on a packed street in Shinjuku or Shibuya. One should not litter, either."
7. "Drivers using cell phones bothers me the most. They should realize the responsibility and the risk that comes with driving an automobile. Talking on a cell phone while driving could potentially kill others and the driver at the same time. I have never been in such a dangerous moment, but my friends tell me such stories and it's scary."
8. "Women should never put their makeup on in public places. I can understand the effort they put in to make themselves look pretty, but they should do it at home and not in front of people. That is a big turnoff. It also goes to show one's lifestyle, whether they are on point or not."
