dear editor,i am confused these days.We are taught at home and at school that violence is bad For exampie,lastweek ,my friend and I were piaying at the beach.We found a really beautiful shell.Myfriend picked it up,but i saw it first,and i said it was mine.hesaid,no it was his .i really wantthe shell,and i even thought about hitting him,that is how angry i was.now should that be right?no!I should not use violence.I should talk with my friend instead,and solve that.My parents and teachers often tell me that using violence is the least civilized way to solve problems.so,if adults had a disagreement,and if they used violence towards each other in order to win,is it all right?NO now,i am confused.when two countries disagree,they often use violence.they fight a war.Using violence is not okey at home ,at school,or in yourcountry but okey between two countries,why?a war is extreme violence.so not only soldiers but citizens,including small children and babies have been killed and injured because of war.adults say they are fighting wars in order to solve problems and make peace.but can you really "make peace"by using violence and killing so many people?i don't think that bombs and missiles can reach people's hearts and change them.Bombs and missiles can't create love and caring ,and that's what we need in the world.Why can't they use they wisdom and talk it over?yours,joshua

我这几天很郁闷.在家和学校我们都被告知最近暴力是不对的.举个例吧,上周的时候,我和我朋友在海滩玩.我们找到了一个非常漂亮的贝壳.我朋友捡起了它,但是我先看到的,于是我说那是我的,他却说那是他的.我真的很想要那贝壳,以致于我想打他,这就是我为什么那么生气.现在看来,那是对的吗?不!我不应该使用暴力,我应该和我朋友谈谈,好解决那个问题.所以,如果大人们有了分歧,如果他们使用暴力来取得胜利,那是对的么?不!现在,我很困惑.当两个国家产生了分歧,他们常常使用暴力,他们打仗.在家使用暴力是不对的,在学校,在你的家里或者是在你的国家亦是如此,但为什么两个国家间使用暴力就行呢?为什么?战争是最极端的暴力.不止是士兵,也包括市民还有那些孩子,婴儿都因为战争而有所伤亡.大人们说他们打仗是为了解决问题,维护和平.但是你们真的能通过暴力和杀戮来获得和平吗?我不认为炸药和导弹能够直入别人的心中,改变别人的观点.炸药和导弹是不能创造爱和关心的,而这些恰恰是我们的世界所需要的.为什么他们不用他们的智慧来谈一谈?
