I am really sorry to tell you that I am unable to attend your birthday party.That is because the fact that my father suddenly fell ill and has been taken to the hospital.I have to go there and take care of him.
I really regret that I won't go to celebrate your birthday personally and will miss a wonderful chance to enjoy myself with you.I have prepared a pretty gift to you and will send to you this afternoon to show my best birthday wishes.Besides,I trust that you will understand me.
