I agree that the students should get a general education. First of all, it is good for students to learn as broadly as possible. Because all the knowledge will be useful for them after they graduate. Some work may be very complicated and need all kinds of skills to solve it. Second, there are always some intersections or overlaps between fields of sdudy. If the students only know one field, they may have some trouble when they face this situation. In conclusion, getting a general education is neccessary for the students.
