为什么填closed?

为什么填closed?
We often keep our eyes _____(close)when we are doing eye exercises.
我觉得应该填close或closing啊.

"keep sth.+形容词" 使...保持...状态" ,此句中的closed是形容词.
keep our eyes closed 使眼睛保持闭着的状态
没有keep sb./ sth.do ..结构;
keep sb.doing sth.使某人一直做某事,强调动作,
如用keep our eyes closing,则表示眼睛一直在进行close这个动作,好像在不停地眨眼,这显然不对.
再问：那如果close是作形容词呢?
